I’m gonna try mixing it up a little bit here - occasionally posting some of my favorite Sailormoon songs. Please let me know if you love it and it’s amazing and magical and you want to have its babies… or if you hate it and I need shut my trap and get back to screencappin’.

As many of you probably know, there is a HUMONGOUS body of musical work associated with Sailormoon, including the anime, games, musicals, and live-action series. Some of it tends toward the surreal - Christmas songs, smooth jazz, and “French pop” versions are all duly represented. These stylistically varied “cover” albums from the anime are my favorites, so I’ll be posting some of those tracks.

To start off, here’s Tanjou ~Moon Prism Power, Make Up!~ from the Sailormoon R Symphonic Poem album. It’s based on “Otome no Policy” (my all-time favorite OP/ED song! WHEE) and “Moonlight Densetsu.” If you this symphonic style of music, you may want to check out the rest of the album (tracks 5 and 8 are some other standouts) at the legendary sailormusic.net, where you can find pretty much every Sailormoon-related song ever recorded, and then some.

“Resurrection Serenade” from the Sailor Moon R Movie.

This is a song called “Usagi to Mamoru” from the Sailor Moon Memorial Music Box. One of my favorites! It has this great jazzy Disney quality that always puts a smile on my face. =)

Like many moonies before me,and I’m sure many after I am searching for a way to include something Sailor Moon inspired into my ceremony (Much like THIS clever bride!) with out being too over the top about it.

I wish they had kept this as the transformation music for the rest of the season! It’s so pretty and sweeping and MATURE, especially compared to the other music they used later on. You really got the sense that this transformation was something special.
